[THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR WRECK-IT RALPH 2: RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET]
Ralph Breaks the Internet officially inducts Vanellope Von Schweetz as a Disney princess, and what kind of princess would she be if she didn't have her own song number? Luckily, the movie delivers, and you can listen to Vanellope's This Place Called Slaughter Race online.
Interestingly enough, the song was actually written by Disney veteran Alan Menken who has been providing the music for your favorite Disney Renaissance films from The Little Mermaid to Tangled. Sarah Silverman and Gal Gadot also do their own singing for this part which I think is fantastic.
I'll admit, though the song is supposed to be mostly funny, it still does the trick of perfectly showing the audience Vanellope's longing and what she really wants out of the story—just like every other Disney princess song.
All-in-all, Ralph Breaks the Internet is a solid sequel from Disney Animation, and it perfectly builds upon the first film in a way that isn't forced. You'd think that Ralph and Vanellope's story couldn't develop any further, but the sequel really does deliver story-wise.
Video game bad guy Ralph and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz must risk it all by traveling to the World Wide Web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope's video game, "Sugar Rush." In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet -- the netizens -- to help navigate their way, including an entrepreneur named Yesss, who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site BuzzzTube.
Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet is currently showing in theaters.
