Who Is Raizen in Yu Yu Hakusho?
Raizen belongs to an extraordinary class of formidable demons known as Mazoku.
As one of the Three Kings of Makai and the ancestral father of Yusuke Urameshi, he possesses enduring youth and strength despite having lived for thousands of years.
Raizen continues to maintain a vigorous and lean yet muscular physique.
What Are the Powers of Raizen in Yu Yu Hakusho?
While the powers of Raizen in Yu Yu Hakusho remain a mystery, many characters have acknowledged that he is probably one of the most powerful characters in the series.
The only character who can go past him or his powers is the protagonist of Yu Yu Hakusho, Yusuke.
As an Upper S Class Mazoku, Raizen possesses immeasurable power and boasts considerable experience as a warrior.
His top strength surpasses that of other S-Class demons in power. Even in a diminished stage, Raizen remains comparable to Mukuro and Yumi.
Raizen is incredibly powerful in the strength department.
In his battle with Sensui, Raizen’s possession of Yusuke manifests in powerful attacks, generating sparks and tendrils of lightning, evident when Yusuke uses the spirit punch and spirit gun.
Raizen is also quite fast, and this is showcased when he is fighting Yusuke in his frenzied state.

In terms of technique, Raizen has many up his sleeve that he uses against his enemies.
He uses Fury Palm Rush in his frenzied form. This is shown when he grabs Yusuke’s face with his left palm, forcefully thrusting him through the fortress wall.
With a powerful surge of green energy, he propels Yusuke across the terrain, slamming him into a massive rock while still maintaining a crushing grip on his head.
Another technique that Raizen employs during his fights is called Lightning Empowerment.
When Raizen possessed Yusuke, a lightning bolt struck Yusuke’s spirit gun and spirit punch, a unique occurrence that had not happened before.
In his prime days, Raizen could use a blast of white demonic energy. It is also believed that Raizen can fly.
When he used the Fury Palm Rush, he was enveloped in green energy as he suspended his opponent in mid-air.
This suggests that his technique is so powerful that it allows him to propel a certain distance before descending.
As such, Raizen likely can fly, a capability shown by Sensui and Yusuke in their battle.
