Rain's K-drama comeback was a massive success after Ghost Doctor alongside Kim Bum gained an overwhelming response from the viewers.

For the season finale, the medical fantasy series garnered an average nationwide rating of 7.953 percent, a significant increase from its previous personal best of 6.597 percent, during its eighth episode.

Interestingly, this is the drama's highest viewership rating since it premiered on January 3.

In the tvN series, Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji Hoon, took on the character of Cha Young Min, the egoistic cardiothoracic surgeon at Eunsang University Medical Center.

He then developed a love-hate friendship with Ko Seung Tak, the first-year medical intern played by Kim Bum.

Their unique bromance started after Dr. Cha fell into a coma and it was only Ko Seung Tak who could help him.

Using his special ability to see coma ghosts, he and Cha Young Min agreed to save lives by possessing the intern's body.

Rain Reveals Plans for Upcoming Projects

During his interview with Star News to commemorate the finale of Ghost Doctor, the 39-year-old A-lister recalls missing big opportunities outside Korea due to the pandemic.

As noted by Zapzee, Rain mentioned that there were two projects lined up before the health crisis happened.

"One of them has already been released, and the other one is a TV series, and it'll air soon," he said; however, he sees it as a blessing in disguise because he was able to "work on a great project like Ghost Doctor."

Interestingly, Rain hints at the possible Hollywood project that he might appear in, saying that he is "currently discussing these projects."

Moreover, he also expressed in his conference that he "will be able to sign a contract."

As for other information like whether it will be a tv show or a movie, Rain was tight-lipped about further details.

To recall, the singer-actor is among a few South Korean stars who were given a chance to work in Hollywood.

Aside from Lee Byung Hun, Bae Doona, Train to Busan's Ma Dong Seok, a.k.a Don Lee, Rain also starred in the 2008 movie Speed Racer as his Hollywood debut, followed by the action packed movie Ninja Assassin in 2009.
