Rain and Kim Tae Hee have been known for being active in real estate, but it looks like one of their commercial buildings isn’t sold yet.

According to reports, the couple’s building in Gangnam is still empty, doesn’t have a buyer, and has massive loans that need repayment. So, are Rain and Tae Hee experiencing a loss of profit here?

Rain and Kim Tae Hee’s Unsold Building

Netizens talk about the media reports about the celebrity couple whose expensive building doesn’t have any tenants or buyers on a community forum, as translated by AllKpop.

The pair believed to be Rain and Kim Tae Hee, reportedly purchased the building in June 2021 for a whopping 92 billion KRW.

However, they allegedly returned it to the market after just a year with an asking price of 140 billion KRW.

The two denied selling the building again, but additional reports claimed they “took back their offers” when buyers didn’t show up.

Real estate experts suggested a 140 billion KRW asking price isn’t a “realistic cost for average buyers” even though the building is located in one of the prime locations in Gangnam.

In addition, the netizens also discuss the amount of expenses and monthly loan payments Rain and Kim Tae Hee need to pay, which is probably around 200 million KRW a month.

Rain and Kim Tae Hee as Active Real Estate Sellers

This isn’t the first time Rain and Kim Tae Hee have tried to sell the real estate they purchased.

In fact, they’re known for buying and selling buildings, often reselling properties a few years after buying them.

The actress herself sold a commercial building of her own after purchasing it seven years ago near the Yeoksam-dong neighborhood in Gangnam, making a 7.1 billion KRW profit.

The 43-year-old reportedly purchased the property for 13.2 billion KRW in June 2014 and sold it for 20.3 billion in March.

Additionally, the Hi Bye, Mama! star is said to make profits in December 2018 after transferring building ownership to a real estate leasing corporation she established after purchasing it under her name.

Rain and Kim Tae Hee reportedly own several more properties, like in Seoul’s Hannam-dong and Cheongdam-dong neighborhoods, valued at 40 billion KRW.
