The Quintessential Quintuplets follow the story of Futaro Uesugi, an academically gifted student struggling in life as he lost his mother, his father becoming debt-ridden, and he has no friends both inside and outside of school. Futaro was then employed by the Nakano family as a private tutor for the Nakano quintuplets: Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki.
The Nakano quintuplets are all sorts of quirky and trouble as each of them has their own hobbies, interests, style, and personality – all but studying as they are performing poorly when it comes to academics.
Futaro was rejected by some of the quintuplets at first, treating him as a stranger in their apartment, but since Futaro really needs to earn for his family and because of his grit and tenacity, the diligent private tutor persevered to convince each of the quintuplets to accept him and his help to pursue their studies.
Futaro has built a special kind of relationship with each of the Nakano sisters over the course of the series. In a flashforward, a revelation is given that Futaro will be ending up marrying one of the quintuplets but her identity has yet to be revealed.
The Quintessential Quintuplets is an anime series produced by Bibury Animation Studios and is based on the Japanese shōnen manga of the same name by Negi Haruba which is currently ongoing.

Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 Episode 7 & 8 Recap
In the seventh episode of the second season of Quintessential Quintuplets, Futaro went to search for Nino who was thinking about the conversation she had with their father about them going back home. Nino refuses and assured that she will guarantee that Ichika will not be carrying all their financial needs on her own.
As Futaro found her, he asked her to come back to Revival and on their way home, Nino confessed her feelings to Futaro who did not seem to listen to her at all. Frustrated at first, Nino repeats it, but this time, loud and clear. Ichika overheard the conversation accidentally.
In Episode 8, Futaro makes up for his mistake and tries to convince Nino for forgiveness. Futaro continues to struggle incorrectly recognizing each of the Nakano sisters. Futaro attempts to figure this out while soaking in the strange behavior of the sisters around him.
Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 Episode 9 Where To Watch with English Subtitles
The second season of Quintessential Quintuplets is available on both Funimation and Crunchyroll as part of their partnership in licensing the show for distribution to various locations around the globe. The series is also available in AnimeLab for those in New Zealand and Australia.
Funimation and AnimeLab offer the English simuldub of the Quintessential Quintuplets. As for Crunchyroll, it has the original Japanese audio with a choice on the language of the subtitles in English, Portuguese, Italian, and Spanish.
Funimation and Crunchyroll offer a week earlier screening of the episodes of the animes in their library for those who are subscribed in their premium access. Those who are not yet subscribed will also be able to access the shows on their libraries a week after the premiere to the premium subscribers.
Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 Episode 9 Release Date and Time
The ninth episode of the Quintessential Quintuplets' second season will be available on March 5, 2021, for the premium subscribers of both Funimation and Crunchyroll at 1:28 AM JST/ 11:28 EST. For those who haven't subscribed for premium access yet, the eighth episode will be released at the same date and same time.
Episode 9 of the Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 will be available for free and for all on March 12, 2021, at the same release time.
