Made in Abyss follows Riko, an orphan girl who lives in Belchero Orphanage. The said orphanage is located in the town of Orth wherein a giant hole called Abyss is surrounding it. The Abyss is a popular hunting location as it has artifacts and remnants from the old civilizations. Cave Raiders are the hunters who would risk their lives to recover these relics.
Riko’s mother is a White Whistle, who is a legendary Cave Raider. She was presumed dead after she took a “last descent” into the Abyss. Riko then decided that she wanted to become a White Whistle as well. She then meets Reg, a robot that looks like a human boy. The two then went on a journey together.
Questions That Made in Abyss Season 2 Should Answer
Season one of Made in Abyss was released in 2020, and it has been confirmed that a second season will make its premiere in 2022. With this, fans are confident that the upcoming season will answer the questions they have from the previous set of episodes.
One of the questions is “will Nanachi revive her precious Mitty?” Nanachi and Mitty are an odd duo who met Riko and Reg. After Reg failed to amputate Riko’s poisoned arm, Nanachi decided to bring them to her hideout where Riko and Reg met Mitty. After the Orb Piercer has been defeated, and Riko was revived, Nanachi asked Reg to kill Mitty in order to release her from her immortal prison.
Mitty died but Reg suggested that there is a way to revive Mitty. Will Nanachi’s best friend revive in the second season?
Another question that fans are dying to know is “will Riko reunite with her mother, Lyza?” After Riko received her mother’s whistle, she was given a letter that contains all the creatures in the Abyss along with the line, “I’ll be waiting at the bottom of the Abyss”. This encouraged Riko to go down to the Abyss, along with Reg who wanted to discover where he came from. Will the mother and daughter unite?
