Queen Elizabeth has dealt with a number of health issues in recent months. Many royal followers were shocked after seeing the British monarch using a walking cane in October 2021.

After her hospitalization, it was announced that Queen Elizabeth was advised to rest for at least two weeks, but she continued undertaking "light, desk-based duties." In February, Her Majesty complained about experiencing mobility issues and had tested positive for COVID-19 later on.

Queen Elizabeth's Health Issues Spark Major Royal Protocol Break

Author Ian Lloyd told Express UK the demands of the Trooping the Colour would be reimagined with "tremendous thought" for the advanced age of Queen Elizabeth. He added the Trooping the Colour parade "involves an hour on Horse Guard's parade, and normally involves getting in and out of carriages, and sitting on a dais."

The annual parade would start from Pall Mall down to Whitehall. It typically features appearances by senior royals in carriages or on horseback. Queen Elizabeth previously made the ceremonial journey on horseback, before switching to the comforts of a carriage.

The other members of the royal family would then watch from a balcony in Buckingham Palace as an RAF fly-past whizzes over the royal residence. Ian Lloyd projected:

“If she attends that particular event, she will stay in the carriage and not get in and out.”

The Queen: 70 Chapters in the life of Elizabeth II author went on to say that there could be a "shortened version" of the parade "where she goes around the arena." Ian Lloyd claimed Queen Elizabeth would likely remain seated in her carriage for the parts of the celebration where she would typically exit and greet the public.

Reports have it that the Trooping the Colour parade would happen on June 2, 2022. The Service of Thanksgiving would then be held the next day in St. Paul's Cathedral, ahead of the Derby at Epsom Downs on Saturday.

The royal author furthered that "things will be adapted" in this fully-packed running order of events to make sure that Queen Elizabeth is included in her celebrations. He said:

"There will be tremendous thought going into it to make sure the Queen can fully participate. I doubt she will be able to walk down the steps of St Pauls, which she has normally done. She may go through one of the side entrances.”

Queen Elizabeth To Finally Meet Lilibet And Archie On Her Platinum Jubilee?

Meanwhile, other reports suggested that Queen Elizabeth would likely meet her great-grandchildren Lilibet and Archie very soon as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being assured about security arrangements for the monarch's upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Daily Mail reported that Prince Harry may return to the U.K. with Meghan Markle, Lilibet, and Archie for Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee following the security assurance. It stated that a "hybrid" model is now likely to be offered to the Susexxes during their U.K. visit.
