Queen Elizabeth's death is mourned across the globe. And royal fans who have been following her life and the life of the royal family couldn't help but wonder what will happen to her corgis. Throughout her life, Her Majesty owned approximately 30 corgis. But during her final years, she only had a few.
Queen Elizabeth Left Behind Four Dogs After Her Passing
According to NPR, Queen Elizabeth left behind four of her dogs, namely, Muick, Sandy, Lissy, and Candy. Muick and Sandy are corgis, while Lissy is a cocker spaniel, and Candy is a dachshund-corgi hybrid.
Following Prince Philip's death, Prince Andrew decided to give his mother two puppies, Muick and Fergus, to help cheer her up. Unfortunately, Fergus passed away due to a heart defect at just 5 months old.
Fergus was later replaced by Sandy, who was a gift to the queen for her 95th birthday. According to Page Six, the dogs brought constant joy to the queen prior to her death.

Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson Would Take Care Of Queen Elizabeth's Dogs Muick, Sandy
Following her death, the queen's corgis, Muick and Sandy, will move in with Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, who are residing at the Royal Lodge. Even though the Duke and Duchess of York have been divorced for years, they continued to live in the same property.
In fact, Fergie and the queen used to walk their dogs together. And they used this as an opportunity to exchange stories and talk about life.
"The Duchess bonded with Her Majesty over dog walking and riding horses, and even after her divorce, she would continue her great friendship with Her Majesty, by walking the dogs in Frogmore and chatting," a source said (via Page Six).
So, when the queen passed away, Fergie was one of the first people who paid tribute to her.
"She has given her whole life selflessly to the people of the UK & the Commonwealth. To me, she was the most incredible mother-in-law and friend. I will always be grateful to her for the generosity she showed me in remaining close to me even after my divorce," she wrote on social media.
Prince William, Kate Middleton Could Keep Lissy, Candy In Their Home
Now that the queen's corgis already have a permanent home, royal fans are wondering what would happen to Lissy and Candy.
Claudia Joseph, a London-based journalist, claimed that Prince William and Kate Middleton might take on one or two dogs.
"Andrew has Cocker Spaniels so he might take back the one he gave her. William and Kate also love dogs so they could have them," Joseph told the New York Post.
Rest assured, someone would take good care of the queen's dogs and love them as much as she did.
