Very few games manage to get the same level of prestige that the BioShock franchise has managed to amass, and thanks to PS Plus, a good number of players will be able to experience the worlds of Rapture and Columbia for free.
Just in, the official PlayStation Blog has announced three games that will be coming free for the month of February, and one of them is BioShock: The Collection. Here's the official description:
From the undersea city of Rapture to the airborne metropolis of Columbia, BioShock: The Collection takes players on monumental journeys through awe-inspiring, deceptively dangerous places that are simply unforgettable. BioShock: The Collection features all three games in this award-winning series – BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite – remastered in 1080p, including all single-player add-on content.
It's interesting that BioShock would be the game coming to PS Plus next month since reports were coming out last December that a fourth game was in the works with Cloud Chamber. Seeing that PS Plus had released The Last of Us Remastered for free last year to help promote the release of the sequel, I can't help but think that this is also a way to get fans hyped for an official announcement coming soon. Then again, this is all just speculation on my part.
With Infinite giving us a completely different narrative compared to the first two games, I'm hoping they do the same with BioShock 4. After a secret undersea city and a secret floating city, I wonder where else there's left to go. What about a secret city in space?
BioShock: The Collection will come free for PS Plus subscribers from Feb. 4 to March 2.
