Princess Bride Cast set for Virtual Reunion for a Good Cause

There is little doubt that the cast and crew of The Princess Bride are some of the best Hollywood legends and fans would really love to see them together again. Luckily, we will finally get that chance and it's for a good cause.

The virtual Princess Bride reunion will feature Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Carol Kane, Chris Sarandon, Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn and Billy Crystal doing a table read of the beloved fantasy classic. They will be joined by director Rob Reiner as Patton Oswalt serves at the moderator for the Q&A after the table read. The event will actually be a fundraiser for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

It's no secret that Elwes is joining the event for a very particular reason. The Stranger Things star revealed in a statement that the cast and crew of the film are supporting the Democratic Party.

"I think most people are aware by now that Donald Trump has completely abdicated his duties as President to represent and stand up for all Americans. He has failed to keep the country safe from COVID-19 and as a result he is responsible for the devastating chaos, violence and economic collapse that we are now experiencing," Elwes said.

"If America is going to have a real chance at healing we must get rid of Trump. And that is only possible if we win Wisconsin. I am thrilled to be part of this very rare reunion of my colleagues from The Princess Bride as a way to increase awareness and garner resources for the state that will determine the fate of America," Elwes concluded.

The Princess Bride virtual reunion will be on September 13. You can join the cause here.
