Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi got engaged in 2019, months before the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, the couple and everyone else in the world didn’t have any idea that a deadly strain would be plaguing the nation. Due to this, Princess Beatrice was forced to postpone her wedding.
Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Royal Wedding Revisited
On July 17, 2020, Princess Beatrice and Mozzi finally tied the knot at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor. If their wedding had taken place months earlier, which was what they originally planned, they would’ve wed at St. James Palace.
Princess Beatrice and Mozzi’s wedding was also a far cry from how Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank celebrated their special day. The latter’s wedding ceremony was televised, and they also invited a huge number of guests to their big day at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Since Princess Beatrice and Mozzi’s wedding took place during the pandemic, they only had a few guests inside the venue. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were there together with Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth. And Mozzi’s son, Wolfie, also served as their best man.

Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Spent The Night Together Before Their Royal Wedding
But according to Express, the couple broke one important tradition that other royal brides like Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle followed. On the night of their wedding, Princess Eugenie and Mozzi did not just see each other. They also stayed in the same room together.
However, Middleton and Prince William stayed in separate places on the night before their wedding. The Duchess of Cambridge was accompanied by her mom, Carole Middleton, and sister, Pippa Middleton, at the Goring Hotel.
Years later, Markle was also joined by her mom, Doria Ragland, at the Cliveden House Hotel on the night before her wedding to Prince Harry.
It’s unclear why Princess Beatrice and Mozzi decided to stay in the same room together the night before. But it’s possible that this had something to do with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the couple had been meeting days before their wedding, it only made sense for them to isolate themselves together until their wedding day.
Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie Helping Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Reconcile With Royal Family
Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice also made headlines today amid reports that she and her younger sister are helping Prince Harry and Markle heal their rift with the rest of the royal family.
While speaking with Express, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams acknowledged that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have a good relationship with the Sussexes. And this friendship could be beneficial to the British monarchy.
“I suspect the York sisters’ good relations with Harry and Meghan are very beneficial to the monarchy. It is perhaps a relief that we don’t know any details, but the healing of rifts is best done quietly,” he said.
Fitzwilliams previously claimed that Princess Eugenie acted as a mediator between the Sussexes and the royal family ahead of the queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
“A tremendous amount of work went on behind the scenes that we don’t know about. Princess Eugenie, who gets on with them, very likely was involved in that,” he said.
