Prince William and Kate Middleton's children have several pet names for their dad and one is inspired by a chef.

Prince George And Princess Charlotte Reportedly Call Prince William 'Poachy'

Ainsley Harriott returns to screens with Ainsley's Fantastic Flavours on ITV. Ahead of its launch, the chef did an interview with The Sun, where he shared how a bizarre interview won Radio 1 made it into the royal household.

"We did this thing about whether you take a bath or not. What do you do in the bath, and I was like sometimes you have a little wee in the bath. You don't mean to but there's something about that relaxation. We then talked about cooking fish in the bath. Greg asked 'could you cook a fish in the bath?'" Ainsley shared.

"I said 'yeah, if it's a little bit of seabass or plaice or something like that.' You wouldn't want a thick bit of fish because it wouldn't poach."

According to him, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, heard the interview. The Prince of Wales even brought it up when he did an interview in the studio.

"Anyway, apparently Prince William and Kate were taking George and Charlotte to school and they found it hysterical," he continued.

"He [Wills] came in to do an interview at the studio, and he called over Greg James and said 'the kids love it. They loved that you were talking about eating fish in the water'."

Ainsley tweaked his famous meme catchphrase "Why hello there, Jill" to "Why hello there, Will. Poachy, poachy, poachy."

He added, "George and Charlotte now call their dad Poachy. Isn't that sweet and so lovely? [laughs]."

Prince George Also Calls Dad Prince William 'Pops'

The Duke of Cambridge has a number of royal titles at home. His kids alone call him several names.

In a 2018 visit to Leicester, Middleton shared that her three children — Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4 — have a sweet name for their dad.

"Kate said that William was playing football with the children last night and one of them said, I think it was George, 'Are you playing football tomorrow, Pops?'" Fiona Sturgess told reporters, according to People.
