Prince William remains estranged from his younger brother, Prince Harry. During a recent interview, the Duke of Sussex revealed that he has not spoken to the Prince of Wales in a while. And even though the dad of two declared that he wants his brother and father back, there’s no indication that his wishes will come true anytime soon.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Not Invited To BAFTAs Tea Party Because Prince William Is The President?
In fact, there are claims that Prince William and Prince Harry’s ongoing feud is also causing division among certain groups and award-giving bodies. According to Page Six, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not invited to last weekend’s star-studded BAFTAs tea party because Prince William serves as its president.
A consultant told the publication that people behind the BAFTAs didn’t think that inviting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was a good idea.
“BAFTA decided it was a terrible idea [to invite them]. They thought it would be a PR disaster. For them to roll out the red carpet to Harry and his wife would be like setting off a nuclear bomb. It’s a no-go,” the source said.
The source also claimed that there were fears that Prince Harry would say something negative about Prince William if he and his wife were invited to the tea party.
“Any interviews would go viral. Anything negative on William would be devastating,” the source said.

Prince Harry Claims Prince William Was Jealous Of Him Because He Had More Freedom?
Prince Harry continued talking about Prince William beyond his memoir Spare. In fact, during his conversation with Michael Strahan, the Duke of Sussex claimed that his older brother was jealous of him. After all, his life was more relaxed compared to Prince William’s.
“Yes, I have more freedom than he has. His life is planned out for him. I had more flexibility to be able to choose the life that I wanted,” he said (via Cheat Sheet).
Prince William Jealous Of Prince Harry’s Popularity Growing Up?
Even before Prince Harry’s memoir was released, there were also claims that Prince William grew up feeling jealous of his younger brother. According to former protection officer Ken Wharfe, Prince Harry received more attention growing up because he was the joker, so Prince William became jealous of him.
“Harry was the joker of the pair of them, and because of that, [he] was much more popular than his brother. There was a sort of a bit of sibling rivalry there. William was slightly jealous of his popularity,” he told GB News.
Prince Harry’s popularity and charisma were also felt strongly by the public after he married Meghan Markle. After all, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seemed like a modern couple who were ready to make changes to the British monarchy.
However, Prince Harry and Markle’s popularity once again became a point of contention for the Prince of Wales.
“At that point, everyone in the entire world thought what a great beginning now for a re-modeling of the monarchy to have this prince and his wife, a divorcee, an American, a woman of mixed-raced [background]. It was everything expected, what everybody wanted, to move the monarchy into the 21st century. And then suddenly, almost immediately, it collapsed. Now we have this biography, this book, that really, I think, just sort of cement the end to this piece of magic,” Wharfe said.
