Prince William is reportedly not impressed with his sister-in-law Meghan Markle still using her royal title when she comments on controversial matters. Prince Harry's wife has been vocal about political matters and controversial issues.

Prince William Reportedly Unhappy With Meghan Markle Using Royal Title After Leaving The Firm

Prince William and Prince Charles have been supportive of the Queen as she scales back on her royal duties. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Duke and Duchess of Cornwall have been taking on more duties after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their royal duties.

Meghan Markle has been vocal about the various issues in the United States. Just recently, she spoke with Gloria Steinem on reproductive rights post-Roe v. Wade. And Prince William is reportedly not pleased that she keeps on using her royal title in a private capacity, especially about political matters, according to a royal commentator.

"This has really become a big hot potato. It all really stems from the fact the one-time royal Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex recently gave an interview to Gloria Steinem for a glossy magazine," royal expert Neil Sean said, Express reported.

"It's all about the Roe v Wade debate. But, as ever, once an associated member of the British Monarchy comes forward and starts getting into that political arena, it can become damaging.

Sean quoted a source who told him that the second in line to the throne is concerned that Markle is stealing the focus from the cause that he and the other senior royals promote. He is not impressed with the Duchess of Sussex, still using her title whenever she speaks up about controversial issues, and it's not because of jealousy.

"According to a very good source, and as ever we have to say allegedly, Prince William is unhappy once again at having to work through the mire of what these particular associations mean," Sean added.

"When you look forward to William and Catherine, they are very busy promoting their own charities as are Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. So whenever you have a situation moving forward when an associated member of the Royal Family can grab the headlines, it's not a case of jealousy."

He pointed out that the royal's concern is not about who is more popular but if what one is promoting is right. In the process, "it throws up the problem once again of the use of royal and associated titles."

Sean continued, "How can Prince William stop his causes from being overshadowed by someone who is simply not a working member of the monarchy but still using her titles?"

Several Times Meghan Markle Used Royal Titles In Controversial Matters

Last month, Meghan Markle joined Gloria Steinem and Jessica Yellin to discuss abortion rights two days after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade for Vogue. The headline did not mention Markle's name; instead, it used her royal title.

"Gloria Steinem, the Duchess of Sussex, and Jessica Yellin on Abortion Rights, the ERA, and Why They Won’t Give Up Hope," the title read.

Prince Harry's wife also did the same when she wrote a letter published by Paid Leave for All in October to advocate for paid parental leave. She signed the letter as Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.

Several netizens supported her advocacy, but it also raised some eyebrows because she used her British peerage title in her "political" letter.

"Why is she using her title in America to make a political point? 'The Duchess of Sussex' campaigning politically - both sound ridiculous in America 2021 and highly inappropriate for a British royal," one Twitter user tweeted, adding, "I'd have no problem with her letter if she wasn't trading on that title!"

"My heart. Princess Meghan has done it again. Standing up for causes that benefit everyone. So proud and let's get this ball rolling," a supporter wrote.
