Prince Harry has always spoken highly of his late mother, Princess Diana. In fact, he recently revealed that he still feels the Princess of Wales’ presence at home and when he’s sharing stories about her late mother with his two children.
“It's constant. It has been over the last two years. More so than ever before. It's almost as though she's done her bit with my brother and now she's very much back to help me. Got him set up, now she's helping me set up. That's what it feels like. He's got his kids. I've got my kids. You know, circumstances are obviously different. I feel her presence in almost everything that I do now,” Prince Harry said (via Express).
Prince Harry Got His Sense Of Humor From Princess Diana
But what some royal fans might not know is that Prince Harry got his sense of humor from Princess Diana. And even though he recently revealed that he loves Queen Elizabeth’s sense of humor, he reportedly shared more similarities with the Princess of Wales in this department.
In the book William at 40: The Making of a Modern Monarch, royal author Robert Jobson detailed one hilarious encounter between Prince Harry and Princess Diana decades ago. He said that Princess Diana was known for her risqué jokes, and she didn’t mind even if her young children heard them.
“On the school run one morning, she started telling a risqué joke, apparently unconcerned that Harry was drinking in every salacious word. Her police protection officer — aware that the language was inappropriate for young ears — tried to stop her mid-flow, but she was having none of it. On arrival at Wetherby School in West London, William ran off to his classroom, while Harry immediately started telling the new joke to the headmistress. Belatedly, Diana — who’d gone red with embarrassment — managed to stop him from reaching the punchline,” Jobson wrote.

Prince Harry Still Remembers Princess Diana’s Laughter
Other than Princess Diana’s risqué jokes, Prince Harry was also drawn to his late mom’s laughter. In the documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, the Duke of Sussex said that he still remembers clearly the sound of Princess Diana’s laughter.
“All I can hear is her laugh in my head, and that sort of crazy laugh of where there was just pure happiness shown on her face,” he said (via Cheat Sheet).
Prince Harry Struggled With Drugs, Alcohol Following Princess Diana’s Death
Prince Harry has not shied away from talking about Princess Diana during his interviews. While speaking with Oprah Winfrey, he revealed that his mom’s death led him to drink and use drugs.
The Duke of Sussex also said that he couldn’t seem to forget how the paparazzi hounded the Princess of Wales everywhere they went.
“The clicking of cameras and the flash of cameras makes my blood boil. It makes me angry. It takes me back to what happened to my mum, and what I experienced as a kid. I was so angry with what happened to her, and the fact that there was no justice at all... The same people that chased her through that tunnel photographed her dying on the back seat of that car,” he said (via NBC News).
Prince Harry then revealed what Prince Charles told him following Princess Diana’s death. The heir to the throne reportedly told his son that the media attention was something that he had to get used to since he’s a member of the royal family.
“That doesn't make sense. Just because you suffered, it doesn't mean that your kids have to suffer. In fact, quite the opposite. Isn't this all about breaking the cycle?” Prince Harry said.
