Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back at making red carpet appearances. The royal couple joined the 2021 Salute to Freedom Gala at the Intrepid Museum Wednesday night. The duke was there for a purpose and his gorgeous wife accompanied him.

Prince Harry At The 2021 Salute To Freedom Gala With Meghan Markle

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex turned heads when they arrived at the special New York City event for the veterans. Markle was stunning in her red gown by Carolina Herrera. The sleeveless gown featured a plunging neckline, a bow in the back, and a thigh-high slit. She paired it with matching red heels by Giuseppe Zanotti, People reported.

Prince Harry donned a classic black suit. he also wore a bow tie pinned with four medals and the cross for Knight Commander of Royal Victorian Order around his neck.

Prince Harry was invited to present the awards to five service members, veterans, and military families living with the "invisible wounds of war." The Duke of Sussex's attendance fit the event because he served in the British army for 10 years.

Prince Harry is also dedicated to helping the veterans, he even started Invictus Games, an international sporting event for the wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.

Prince Harry Deserves To Be At The 2021 Salute To Freedom Gala

Sunrise royal commentator Angela Mollard weighed in on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's attendance at the event. The Duke of Sussex was the one invited and Mollard agreed that he deserved to be there.

Mollard credited Prince Harry's Invictus Games, which she found an "extraordinary thing." She also acknowledged that he was just giving awards to people in the military, but the cause is close to his heart.

The royal commentator supported Prince Harry's link to the military because she believed that if that thing would be removed, he would be left with nothing.

"And I think look, if you take that way away from the guy, you've taken him out of the family, you take him away from that kind of military connection," she explained per Express.

"You don't have much left, that's a really honourable part of his innate purpose and part of his identity."

Prince Harry Devastated When Queen Stripped Him Of Honorary Military Titles

Earlier this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided not to return to their royal duties. So, the Queen stripped them of their royal patronages and honorary military titles.

According to royal expert Charlie Lankston, the duke was hurt by his grandmother's decision about his military titles.

"We know that Harry has a great love of the military, we know he was devastated when he had to step away from active duty many years ago," he said per Express. "And that, I think, is going to be what really hurts him the most. Having to give up the titles he worked so hard to get in the first place."
