Prince Harry Deserves To Be At The 2021 Salute To Freedom Gala
Sunrise royal commentator Angela Mollard weighed in on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's attendance at the event. The Duke of Sussex was the one invited and Mollard agreed that he deserved to be there.
Mollard credited Prince Harry's Invictus Games, which she found an "extraordinary thing." She also acknowledged that he was just giving awards to people in the military, but the cause is close to his heart.
The royal commentator supported Prince Harry's link to the military because she believed that if that thing would be removed, he would be left with nothing.
"And I think look, if you take that way away from the guy, you've taken him out of the family, you take him away from that kind of military connection," she explained per Express.
"You don't have much left, that's a really honourable part of his innate purpose and part of his identity."
Prince Harry Devastated When Queen Stripped Him Of Honorary Military Titles
Earlier this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided not to return to their royal duties. So, the Queen stripped them of their royal patronages and honorary military titles.
According to royal expert Charlie Lankston, the duke was hurt by his grandmother's decision about his military titles.
"We know that Harry has a great love of the military, we know he was devastated when he had to step away from active duty many years ago," he said per Express. "And that, I think, is going to be what really hurts him the most. Having to give up the titles he worked so hard to get in the first place."
