Prince William and Prince Harry grew up as the heir and the spare of the royal family. And because of this, it was only natural for the brothers to have some sort of sibling rivalry all throughout their lives. However, it is only now that the Duke of Sussex has explained his side of the story. If he didn't, most royal fans would've thought that brothers have always been best of friends.
Prince William Seemingly Pokes Fun At Prince Harry During Their Joint Interview
In Spare, Prince Harry recounted a joint interview that he and Prince William gave while they were training to be pilots at RAF Shawbury. At the time, the Duke of Sussex was learning how to fly elite Apache helicopters and was awaiting his second deployment in Afghanistan.
Prince William, on the other hand, was training to be a search and rescue pilot. As the second in line to the throne, he wasn't allowed to take part in combat because it was dangerous for him.

Prince William Claims Prince Harry Snores And Doesn't Tidy Up After Himself
Prince William and Prince Harry's differing roles at the RAF Shawbury reportedly heightened the tensions between them. And according to reports, the tensions were obvious when the brothers gave an interview in 2009. But at the time, no one read into what was happening because it seemed as though Prince William and Prince Harry were only teasing each other.
During the interview, the brothers were asked how much inter-service rivalry there was between them. Prince Harry responded by saying that there was no rivalry between them at all and Prince William agreed.
"Everyone knows the Army is a part of the RAF, so…" Prince Harry said before Prince William cut him off (via People).
"I'm an old Household Calvary boy anyway, so it's fine," Prince William added.
When asked if the brothers would ever consider living together again, Prince William seemingly outed all his younger brother's bad habits.
"Well, bear in mind, I cook him and feed him basically every day. I think he's done rather well. He does do a bit of the washing up, then he leaves most of it in the sink, and then it comes back in the morning and I have to wash it up," Prince William said.
Prince Harry cut him off by hilariously suggesting that Prince William is lying.
"Yeah, a bit of tidying. He snores a lot as well. It keeps me up all night long," Prince William insisted.
The banter between the brothers continued after the reporter asked Prince Harry what gift he would give his brother for his birthday. Prince William said that he would be lucky to receive a card from the Duke of Sussex.
Prince Harry Counters Prince William's Claims About Him During Their Joint Interview
But 13 years later, Prince Harry revisited the interview in Spare. He clarified that he doesn't snore, and he also tidies up after himself.
"While sharing that cottage we agreed to a rare joint interview, in an airplane hangar in Shawbury, during which Willy griped endlessly about my bad habits. Harry's a slob, he said. Harry snores. I cleaned up after myself, and I didn't snore. Besides, our rooms were separated by thick walls, so even if I did snore there was no way he heard. The reporters were having fits of giggles about it all, but I cut in: Lies! Lies! That only made them laugh harder. Willy too," Prince Harry wrote.
Prince Harry went on to suggest that Prince William must not have been thrilled to know that he was heading to combat in Afghanistan, and he couldn't do the same because of his position.
"I laughed as well because we often bantered like that, but when I look back on it now, I can't help but wonder if there wasn't something else at play. I was training to get to the front lines, the same place Willy had been training to get, but the Palace had scuttled his plans. The Spare, sure, let him run around a battlefield like a chicken with his head cut off if that's what he likes. But the Heir? No," he added.
