Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made several attacks against the royal family. However, the latter didn't make any response, which only destroyed the Sussexes' "ill-conceived game plan," according to experts.

Prince William And King Charles Reportedly Ruined Meghan Markle And Prince Harry's Game Plan

Edward Coram-James, PR, reputation and crisis management expert and CEO of Go Up, weighed in on the royal family's response to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's attacks against them. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made several allegations against them in their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan. Prince Harry doubled down on their claims in his memoir Spare.

However, the royals have stuck to their "never complain, never explain" mantra, and it seemed to have favored them.

"What should the Royal Family do in response to these claims? In a word: nothing. They have pulled a blinder," Coram-James told Express.

"The biggest mistake that they could make would be to respond to any of the allegations. They are simply not serious enough allegations to warrant them breaching their long-held code of silence."

The PR expert was convinced that the royal family had a game plan, and it was better than the Sussexes. Coram-James called the Sussexes' game plan "ill-conceived" and the royal family's silence a sign of their maturity.

"Breaching that silence will imply guilt. Remaining silent gives an air of maturity and remaining above the fray," he continued.

"The Royal family have had a game plan and, unlike the Sussexes, whose game plan has appeared ill-conceived and often strayed from, the royals have toed the line throughout."

For Coram-James, the Sussexes' attacks only left the royal family with "mild bruising," and it "never came close to being on the receiving end of any knock out blows."

He added that King Charles, Prince William and the other members of the firm know that the blow will soon be over, and the news cycle will move forward with recent reports making today's news an old hat.

Royal Family Praised For Sticking To Their Mantra

Pauline Maclaran, Professor of Marketing and Consumer Research at the Royal Holloway University of London, weighed in on the same issue and echoed the same sentiment. For her, the royal family's decision to hold their tongue and ignore the attacks was the best response to the Sussexes.

"The Royal Family are taking the right stance because the way it is going, Harry will burn himself out," Maclaran told Express.

"If they make any reply, it risks exasperating the whole thing and we end up in a 'he said, she said, they said' battle. They would be horrified to start that and are probably scared to set anything else off. Keeping quiet is actually the best strategy because what accusations can they actually answer? Any of the ones are going to start a battle with who's right."

She also credited the late Queen's response to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's allegations in their interview with Oprah Winfrey about a member of the family racing concern about their unborn child's skin color. Queen Elizabeth released a statement saying, "recollections may vary."

According to Maclaran, the family could release a statement similar to the Queen's announcement because it was the "perfect response to that situation at the time."
