Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are once again making headlines following the release of their new portraits. The images were taken during an event that they attended in the UK prior to Queen Elizabeth's death. However, the timing of the release of their portrait is being questioned by some royal experts.

Are Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Trying To Humiliate The Royal Family With Their New Portrait?

According to royal author Tom Bower, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made sure to release their portrait days after King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton's new photo was released to humiliate the royal family.

"It was all about, we're back now on course to build Brand Meghan and the book, the Netflix series, the podcast. Everything is money. And to their advantage, they were in the public eye for seven days during the funeral or more, every day they were filmed," he told Page Six.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Must Be Thrilled With The Reception They Got At Queen's Funeral

Bower also claimed that Prince Harry and Markle must have been inspired to release a new photo because they were up and center during the queen's funeral service. This was in stark contrast to the reception that they received during the queen's Platinum Jubilee just three months earlier.

At the time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not photographed with the key members of the royal family. And they also immediately went home shortly after attending the Trooping the Colour.

"They were shuffled off to a window upstairs and hardly seen… You know, she has really got one interest and that's Meghan and the casualties are the royal family and as far as she's concerned, that's terrific," he said.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Want The World To Know That There's An Alternative Royal Court In The US

Royal author Katie Nicholl also weighed in on Prince Harry and Markle's portrait and said that it was all in the timing.

"It was quite polarizing, because you had, just two days before, that incredible image of the king and the Queen consort, and the new Prince and Princess of Wales. It said, 'This is the future of the monarchy.' Of course, so notable by their absence, was Harry and Meghan. So, it didn't surprise me to see an image of them so soon after. But it was a pretty bold move, as sort of a reminder that actually there is this alternative royal court across the pond," she told Entertainment Tonight.

Prince Harry and Markle's portrait was also compared to the photo of the new Fab Four. Some royal fans claimed that King Charles III took a leaf out of Prince Harry's book because he seemed more affectionate toward his wife in the portrait.
