Prince Harry’s Memoir Could Compete With Michelle Obama’s The Light We Carry

But even before its release, there are already reports claiming that Prince Harry could go head-to-head with Michelle Obama. After all, the ex-FLOTUS will also be releasing a new book called The Light We Carry on Nov. 15.

Prince Harry’s memoir and Obama’s new book, which is a follow-up to her best-selling hit, Becoming, are both published by Penguin Random House. According to Express, it is highly likely for the publishing company to pace the release of both books to ensure that Prince Harry’s memoir will also generate huge sales.

Prince Harry Will Donate $1.5 Million From His Earnings To His Chosen Charity

According to People, Prince Harry will be making a huge sum of money from his latest venture. However, he won’t be keeping all his profits. Rather, he will donate a generous sum of $1.5 million from his book and audiobook sales to his chosen charity.

“This is one of several donations I plan to make to charitable organizations, and I'm grateful to be able to give back in this way for the children and communities who gravely need it,” he said.

Last year, a source also revealed that the Duke of Sussex informed the royal family that he would be working on his memoir. However, this doesn’t mean that he asked permission from the royal family to push through with his work.

Prince Harry’s memoir appears to share some similarities with Edward VIII’s memoir. After all, Queen Elizabeth’s uncle released his own book after abdicating from the throne. And the Duke of Sussex also announced his memoir over a year after he quit his royal duties alongside his wife, Meghan Markle.
