Prince Andrew had been in the news since his name was linked to the late convicted s*x offender, Jeffrey Epstein. Things exacerbated after Virginia Giuffre came forward and accused the son of Queen Elizabeth of s*xual assault on three occasions.

Fortunately, Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre were able to reach an out-of-court settlement in February. It was claimed that the former husband of Sarah Ferguson, who made no admission of liability, would pay an undisclosed amount of money to the alleged victim.

Palace Confidential host Jo Elvin shared:

"With no work on the horizon, presumably he's going to be relying on his family's help for he rest of his life? It's important to stress that Prince Andrew is not living on the bread line but he does have a very expensive lifestyle. He may not be working now but he does still live in a very grand house, Royal Lodge at Windsor. The upkeep of that and grounds must be massive."

He furthered:

"Of course, the big issue for him is he and his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York have always lived and aspired to a lifestyle they couldn't really afford which is one of the reasons why they found themselves being bank-rolled by some pretty nefarious characters over the years in the first place. Quite what he's going to do for money going forwards, I don't know. He will have private investments and money that's bequeathed to him like other members of the Royal Family. I suspect he will probably have to go to the bank of mum in the future as well."

Most, if not all, royal followers are aware that Queen Elizabeth receives the Sovereign Grant to fund her official duties as head of state and to maintain the occupied Royal Palaces. No member of the royal family, including Prince Andrew, receives a private income from the grant or any other public funds.

Clarence House declined to respond to reports about Prince Charles had helped Prince Andrew with the payment to Virginia Giuffre. Buckingham Palace, on the other hand, has yet to comment.

It was claimed that Prince Andrew's membership of the In & Out club has quietly lapsed since he handed back all his patronages to Queen Elizabeth earlier this year. Some royal experts claimed the latest move of Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice would be a particular blow given that his late father had served as the club's president.

Reports claimed the name of Prince Andrew has remained on the In & Out's members list for several months even after he stepped down as a member of the royal family. However, the Duke of York's name has disappeared from the books in recent days.
