Best known as Tommy Oliver and one of the original Power Rangers in the 1990s series and movies, Jason David Frank was confirmed dead at 49. The death of Jason David Frank was confirmed by his manager, Justin Hunt, through Entertainment Weekly and Associated Press. The actor and mixed martial artist died in Texas.

Hunt delivered the news of the passing of Jason David Frank and asked, "Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being."

Hunt added, "He loved his family, friends, and fans very much. He will be truly missed."

While the cause of his death was not disclosed by family members nor his manager, TMZ reported that their sources said the reason was suicide.

Jason David Frank was a mixed martial artist who was a professional MMA brawler, and he even fought in a professional league from 2008 to 2010. He was knowledgeable in Muay Thai, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Taekwondo and more.

Jason David Frank was best known for playing the role of Tommy Oliver in the original Power Rangers series in the 90s which had various seasons and movies. His appearances were on more than 100 episodes, making him the one with the most popular characters on the show.

Jason David Frank's Tommy Oliver started as a villain, the Green Ranger, who was controlled by Rita Repulsa and was inducted to be part of the team in the 1993 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

While his role was supposed to be temporary, the fans loved him so much, the showrunners decided to bring him back as the White Ranger, the team leader, for three seasons.

Through various spin-off shows and movies, Jason David Frank's Tommy Oliver also returned in different characters and rangers like Black Dino Ranger, Red Turbo Ranger, and Red Zeo Ranger in Power Rangers DinoThunder, Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, and Power Rangers HyperForce.

Throughout the whole adaptation of the Power Rangers, Jason David Frank donned four ranger colors: Green Ranger, White Ranger, Black Ranger, and Red Ranger.

In the 2017 reboot of the Power Rangers, Jason David Frank even made a cameo appearance as a citizen of Angel Grove.
