Pokémon GO: Ho-Oh Now Appearing In Raid Battles

Niantic recently challenged Pokemon GO players to catch 3 billion Pokemon as part of the Global Catch Challenge. Even though the game's not as popular as it used to be, players were able to complete the challenge and Niantic has rewarded them in a big way. The company has announced that Ho-Oh will now appear in Raid Battles around the world until December 12.

This is great news for fans of the game since Raid Battles don't just net players great items but it can also give them a chance to capture a legendary Pokemon. Now that Ho-Oh is available for a limited time, expect players to team up and face the second generation legendary before they capture it. It's a nice reward from the developers in Niantic and could ensure more successful Global Catch Challenges in the future. Fans have until December 12 to catch it.

Ho-Oh is the main legendary of Pokemon Gold, a Gameboy Color game it graces the cover of. Fans of the anime will remember how Ash spotted the legendary in the very first episode, which was retold and followed up on in the non-canon film Pokemon The Movie: I Choose You! To this day, the Pokemon remains a favorite amongst fans and it's easy to see why.

Pokemon GO is a free-to-play game that can be downloaded now on iOS and Android. Fans that own Pokemon Ultra Sun can also catch Ho-Oh there.
