Pokémon GO Adds Rayquaza and More Dragon-Types


Niantic is at it again. The company has announced that Pokemon GO will be getting even more monsters from the Hoenn region, including the legendary Rayquaza, who will be the latest EX Raid legendary. Fans of Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald are going to be really happy with these additions, which should lengthen the game's already long lifespan.

According to the developer's blog, these new Pokemon will be arriving on February 9, so they will be coming very soon. Rayquaza aside, Niantic has also confirmed more Flying-type and Dragon-type Pokemon as part of the announcement.

Fans of the Hoenn region will also be happy to know that there will be a mini-event that will be taking place when the new monsters arrive. From Feb. 9 until Feb. 13, all of the wild Pokemon players will encounter will come from the Hoenn region, so players that need to evolve some of their favorites should stock up on Pokeballs.

Rayquaza will be appearing in EX Raids until March 16, so fans better get ready. Kyogre will also be available until Feb. 14, so gamers better cancel their dates. Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android.
