Fans across the globe lost their collective marbles when Nintendo and Game Freak announced Pokemon Shield and Pokemon Sword. The gameplay looks more like what we expect from a Pokemon game and we finally got to see what this region's new starters will look like. It didn't take long for fans to love grass-type Grookey, fire-type Scorbunny, and water-type Sobble.

The official art for these Pokemon have been great but Sobble's has enamored more people than expected, with some fans already deciding to choose the water-type as their starter. Fans like this Pokemon so much that one of them has replaced Pikachu in the infamous Pikachu meme and put Sobble in its place.

And it's glorious.

Obviously, this Pokemon won't permanently replace the Pikachu meme since the yellow rat is too iconic to be replaced. Still, it adds to how cute Sobble is and fans hope that the evolutions hold up as well. Expect tons of fans to love these starters since some gamers will actually be starting their Pokemon journeys with this game.

No official release date for Pokemon Shield and Pokemon Sword has been announced. Game Freak has stated that it will be out by late 2019 but nothing specific. The two titles will be coming to the Nintendo Switch so if you need a reason to get the system, here it is.
