The Pokemon Company has finally unveiled details about its Pokemon Home service and, well, it's kind of disappointing. Most of us knew that it would be a paid service that would let us bring over our Pokemon from previous games to Pokemon Sword and Shield, along with future games, but fans will need to get the service on two different devices if they want to make the most out of it.
Why? Because The Pokemon Company has revealed that the Nintendo Switch version will not have any Pokemon trading features. That's right, you can only trade Pokemon via your phone, which has to be one of the most boneheaded decisions ever made for this franchise. Most people want to trade with their Nintendo Switch so we can assume that this isn't going to go well unless some changes are made.
As expected, there's a free version of Pokemon Home and multiple paid services, which is not going to go well with fans. They were already iffy with the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass but at least they're giving fans new areas to explore and Pokemon to catch. We know that some fans will check the service out to transfer their beloved Pokemon but they should probably take the hits and just leave it be, or just go with the free version.
Pokemon Home will be coming out in February. Pokemon Sword and Shield are now available on Nintendo Switch.
