Pokemon GO/Pokemon Let's Go: That New Pokemon Finally Has a Name

Over the past few days, a new Pokemon has been popping up in the mobile game Pokemon GO. At the time, no one knew what to make of it and its name would just be three question marks. Fans have had a hard time deciphering who this new Pokemon could be, but the Pokemon Company has decided to reveal the name of this new creature today; Meltan.

This was revealed in a video that features Professor Willow from Pokemon GO, formerly known as Professor Daddy to some fans, talking to Professor Oak. After Oak eagerly expected a Pikachu or Eevee from Da-- ermm, Willow, the latter revealed that he wanted the Kanto-based professor to do some research on a Ditto that transformed into this new Pokemon. Oak soon recognizes the creature and calls it Meltan, though fails to reveal what exactly this monster can do.

At the end of the video, it's revealed that Meltan will be a part of Pokemon GO, Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee. Sadly, we don't get to see it unleash any attacks in this video, so we'll have to wait for more information when the two Switch games come out on November 16. It seems like players of Pokemon GO can get this creature now, assuming it isn't just a Ditto of course.

When Meltan first appeared in some data mining, fans wondered if this would be the exclusive Pokemon that can be obtained by having Let's Go! Pikachu, Let's Go! Eevee, and Pokemon GO. That answer hasn't been given, but it is cool seeing a brand-new Pokemon come to a game that's filled with the creatures from Kanto. It might mean that more Pokemon can be added to these games in the future, though we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves.

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee both come out on November 16. Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android devices.
