Pokemon Go to Introduce Trading In-Game, AR Device Debuts, Leaderboard And More

The appeal of Pokemon Go is undeniable among fans. And it looks like Niantic Labs and Nintendo are making the most out of it by ensuring updates to the game.

The developers have confirmed that it will introduce a trading mechanic to the title. Speaking to Business Insider, Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke stated that the goal of the new feature was to encourage more interactions between players as they help each other complete and catch ‘em all.

Not only that, there will be improvements to the features of Pokemon Go. The AR technology may see improvements that make better use of the smartphone's camera. Additionally, there may also be ways to customize the way players interact with real-life landmarks that house Pokestops and Gyms.

More competitive fans can also look forward to leadership scoreboards that function on a global scale. Perhaps the biggest plan would be taking the game to AR devices. Of course, this may have its own ups and downs. On the flip side, permeating other devices may be a good way to expand the game.

However, considering the nature of the game, using the likes of Google Glass or other AR devices outside may have its limits. Imagine chasing after a Pokemon wearing an AR headgear and going straight into a moving car. Stranger things have happened, where people have found Pokemon in different interesting places since the game launched.

Still, it would be nice to see where Niantic Labs takes Pokemon Go. One thing's for sure, it's not about to go away easily, especially not when other areas are still waiting for the game.

Pokemon Go is already available in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. Its official launch in the U.K., Europe, Canada and other parts of the world are still indefinite at this point.
