Pokemon Go Players Attacked by Tech Journalist

When it comes to really popular games, trends, and apps, there will always be people who are seeking to play out the "sensibly persecutions" card, and with the Pokemon Go craze, I'm not surprised that there are ignorant jounalists who would bash the game.

Jounalist Robyn Vinter took to writing a piece abut her encounter with a Pokemon Go player on the streets. The app that has been praised for bringing people together is being criticized by an actual Pokemon Go player.

She states that the idea of others making attempts at speaking to her in public may put her off Pokemon Go.

"In fact, I'd go as far as saying the risk of actually coming across other players is the No 1 thing putting me off playing the game."

She talked about an encounter with a guy asking for her digits when attempting an ice breaker:

"He then proceeds to introduce himself, enlightens me with his opinions on how glitchy the game is, and then asks for my number so we can ‘meet up again or maybe catch Pokémon or something'."

Vinter said that she went as far as to beg her boyfiend to accompany her on the streets as an augmented reality body guard and then concluded her piece reminiscing about the days when people were video game shut-ins

"What happened to the good old days, when gamers stayed firmly indoors with no need to venture outside and nerds feared social interaction? If only there were such a thing as 'Pokemon Go away'"
Tech/Gaming Journalist wants "nerds" to go back to being scared and reclusive, because someone spoke to her about Pokemon Go

Her nerd or geek bashing is just disgraceful. This kind of reminds me of the time when Fox News bashed Star Wars: The Force Awakens. A lot of fans used to be picked on for their geeky hobbies, and now that Pokemon is motivating more of them to go out and socialize and excercise, she wants them all to go back into solitude for fear that someone she doesn't like might talk to her.
