Pokemon Go Introduces Thanksgiving Event with Double Prizes

There have been several rumors about Pokemon Go lately. Apart from fan datamining some interesting facts that hint at Shinies and other Pokemon, developer Niantic Labs has finally announced a new event just before Christmas.

Dubbed as the Thanksgiving Event, fans can now enjoy double prizes in the form of Double XP and Stardust. This reward is for all in-game actions completed. That means that with every visited PokeStop or caught Pokemon, there's a chance that you can make some big progress like in the Halloween event.

"It's been an incredible experience since we launched Pokemon Go a few short months ago in July. We are passionate about creating experiences that encourage exploration and promote exercise. We are humbled that hundreds of millions of you around the world have joined us on this journey."

This isn't such a bad mini event to keep feelings for Pokemon Go at peace, at least until Christmas official rolls in. Hopefully, we still have an even better event during Christmas, because that would be the time that more players can go on actual exploration during the holiday season.

The Pokemon Go Thanksgiving event will happen from Nov. 23 to 30. Make sure to take advantage of this new offering, because you never know when the sighted Generation 2 ‘mons will arrive in the game.
