Pokemon Detective Pikachu Reveals Official Logo, Major Battle Scene Details

New details about the highly anticipated live-action Pokemon Detective Pikachu movie have just been revealed we can expect a truly epic battle scene.

The official Pokemon Twitter account is currently live-tweeting from the Pokemon World Championships at Nashville, Tennessee. Not surprisingly, it's the perfect venue for director Rob Letterman to share news about his upcoming film. The filmmaker has just revealed the official logo for Pokemon Detective Pikachu at the event. Check it out below.

Attendees were also in for a surprise when it was announced that they could be featured in the film. A major battle sequence was reportedly shot with some fans playing extras. Although the official Twitter account did not reveal details about the scene, one attendee tweeted that the fight will involve two major Pokemon. Spoilers ahead, so proceed with caution.

The idea of Pikachu taking on Charizard is certainly a welcome one. Although Charizard has not yet been cast, we are definitely looking forward to how this fight will go down.

Pokemon Detective Pikachu will star Deadpool 2's Ryan Reynolds as the titular Pokemon. He will be joined by Ken Watanabe (Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and Kathryn Newton (Paranormal Activity 4).

The screenplay for the Detective Pikachu movie will be written by Guardians of the Galaxy scribe Nicole Perlman in collaboration with Alex Hirsch of Gravity Falls. Needless to say, this is a team-up that will worth looking forward to.

Pokemon Detective Pikachu is slated for release on May 10, 2019.
