The Pokemon anime has been on the upswing of quality lately, thanks to great animation and some fun characterization for our lead hero Ash Ketchum. It may or may not be the best of what we've seen from the franchise thus far but there's no doubt that the series is pretty good right now. That goodness might continue, as a teaser from the most recent episode has teased Ash's next Pokemon: a super cute Eevee.
With a mop head and a seemingly sad backstory (it does appear to be trainer-less), fans were squealing with glee as its eyes were shown from its mop-ish hairstyle at the end. Eevee has always been a super-cute Pokemon but giving him the hairstyle has upped his adorability to 1,000. This might actually make fans pick Pokemon Let's Go! Eevee over Let's Go! Pikachu.
Ash getting an Eevee was teased by a promo image recently, which also confirmed the anime debut of Sun and Moon rival Hau. This will be Ash's very first Eevee, which is pretty shocking when you consider how long the Pokemon has been around. While there have been episodes dedicated to the Pokemon and people who own it, having one that is owned by Ash should make things refreshing.
Obviously, this is a marketing tactic being done so that players buy one of the two games that are coming to the Nintendo Switch next month. Still, that doesn't mean the anime won't find a way to make this emotional. At the least, it's kind of neat seeing Ash own this Pokemon after fighting some of its evolved forms in the past.
Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee are coming out on November 16.
