Sony has not confirmed that PlayStation 6 is in the pipeline already. However, speculations about the yet-to-be-confirmed game console have been making rounds online for quite some time now.
It took a very long time for the company to release PlayStation 5, which explains why gaming enthusiasts are keeping their hopes low as of this writing. The PlayStation comprises five series to date, beginning from December 1994 to 2020, and it is expected to extend the series in the near future through PlayStation 6.

PlayStation 6 Release Date
Though we are as thrilled as you are to have PlayStation 6, unfortunately, the highly anticipated gaming console would not be hitting the shelves very soon. Most, if not all, gaming enthusiasts can recall that Sony released the very first PlayStation in December 1994.
PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 were released in 2000, 2006, 2013 and 2020, respectively. Generally, there is a gap of six to seven years in every release date. So, it will not come as a surprise if Sony drops PlayStation 6 between 2025 and 2027.
PlayStation 6 Price
As for the price, the upcoming PlayStation 6 is expected to cost around $599.99 due to its predicted advanced features. Since PlayStation 5 was released in 2020 with a price ranging from $399.99 to $499.99, gamers cannot expect the price of PS6 to go below that.
However, it is worth noting that the price of PlayStation 6 can be higher during its first few weeks in the market. Just like its predecessors, it can gradually decrease depending on its demand.
PlayStation 6 Specs, Features, And Design
Reports have it that PlayStation 6 could sport a better version of PlayStation 5’s Dual sense, 8k/120 fps capability, and 4k Blu-ray player. The imminent gaming console is also expected to feature improved graphics, more than 16 GB RAM, and a fully wireless system.
There are also rumors going around that PlayStation 6 would no longer be a disc-based console. The forthcoming successor of PlayStation 5 is also said to have an in-built wireless system and would be designed smaller compared to the PS5.
Though we can neither rely upon speculations nor completely decline on rumors, PlayStation 6 is likely to become the solution to the drawbacks of PlayStation 5. Aside from better and expandable internal storage, it is said to have Bluetooth audio support, much-improved UI, and a fully wireless system.
