Pixar’s Onward: Chris Pratt Got Emotional During The Pitch Meeting

Just yesterday, Pixar announced their upcoming film Onward which will release after Toy Story 4, and the movie has cast some impressive stars including Tom Holland and Chris Pratt. Pratt takes to Twitter to talk a bit about starring in the film, and it seems that he got a tad emotional.

Check out his post:

Onward's story is set pretty much in a world like Netflix's Bright where fantasy characters are brought up in a modern setting. Instead of magic, the elves and trolls have traded in for technology. The story will focus on two elf brothers (presumably Pratt and Holland) as they attempt to search for what little magic is left in their world.

The movie also stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer.

While I think the premise is kind of standard, I am interested in coming back to a ‘modern fantasy world.' I was excited for Bright when it was first announced, but was ultimately let-down when the film finally came out. With Pixar's reputation for films, I can't wait to see how they're going to bring to life this new world. It may not be as mature as Bright, but I bet they can still impress. Onward director Dan Scanlon also helmed Monsters University—undoubtedly the cleanest "College movie" ever made.

Though Onward has been announced, it's unlikely that we'll get any first look until late next year. For now, Pixar is focused on marketing Toy Story 4 which is set to come out June 2019.

Catch Onward in theaters March 6, 2020.
