Pirate of The Caribbean 5’s Japanese Trailer Spoils Surprise Return Of Familiar Character

A lot of fans weren't expecting the character to return but it seems like the new Japanese trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales spoils the surprise with the character making a short appearance in the preview.

The Japanese trailer for the fifth installment in the popular seafaring pirate film franchise was released earlier today and while the international preview does offer fans some new footage to feast on, it also spoils the return of Keira Knightley's character, Elizabeth Swann. You can see her a few seconds right after the one minute mark of the trailer following a brief clip of Orlando Bloom's Will Turner. Check it down here:

Knightley's appearance in the international trailer for Dead Men Tell No Tales confirms rumors that the actress had been shooting some material for the movie in secret during its production. The English actress used to be a staple in the franchise - after appearing in the first Pirates of the Caribbean film she went on to appear in Dead Maan's Chest and At World's End, leaving only before the franchise worked on its fourth film installment, On Stranger Tides.

Her return to Dead Men Tell No Tales will delight fans who have been dying to have Elizabeth return after her son with Will, Henry (Brenton Thwaites) got a considerable amount of screentime in the first teaser for the movie.

The film's synopsis reads:

Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Talescomes sailing into theaters on May 26, 2017.
