Pedro Pascal Says He Spends More Time in the Suit for The Mandalorian Season 2

While Pedro Pascal may be the main star for The Mandalorian, it has been revealed that he's not always the one behind the suit, even going so far as just to dub the character in the episode Sanctuary. With the second season though, Pascal says he's going to be spending more time in the suit.

Talking to Variety, Pascal gets into a discussion about other people playing the Mandalorian for the show and him just dubbing the character. He says:

"If there were more than just a couple of pages of a one-on-one scene, I did feel uneasy about not, in some instances, being able to totally author that… But it was so easy in such a sort of practical and unexciting way for it to be up to them. When you're dealing with a franchise as large as this, you are such a passenger to however they're going to carve it out. It's just so specific. It's ‘Star Wars.'" (For Season 2, Pascal says he was on the set far more, though he still sat out many of Mando's stunts.)

For the second season, Pascal has confirmed that ‘he was on the set far more', but there are still stuntpeople doing all the heavy lifting for the action scenes.

While a lot of people may not be impressed that Pascal is not always the guy behind the suit, I think this adds to the practicality of the show. Since Pascal doesn't always have to be on set, multiple episodes can be worked on at the same time. With the series expected to bring movie-level CGI, it would be a great advantage if they can use their time as efficiently as possible, and it helps when the main star can be in multiple places at once.

Personally, I just hope they give more credit to the body doubles Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder, but knowing the Star Wars fanbase, those two are probably going to get enough attention from die-hard fans. I guess there's still a lot to consider when it comes to just voicing the character on Pascal's end.

The Mandalorian returns to Disney+ on Oct. 30.
