Pedro Pascal Names the Actor Who Could Play The Mandalorian Better Than Him

Pedro Pascal is one of the talk-of-the-town actors right now. He is currently starring as Joel in the HBO drama series The Last of Us. The actor first gained attention when he starred as Oberyn Martell in the HBO hit drama Game of Thrones, but it was only when he assumed the metal suit of The Mandalorian that he began to ride to stardom. Now that the Star Wars series is back for its third season, Pascal was asked if he had any actor in mind who could play Din Djarin as well as he is.

During his interview with IMDB, Pascal opened up about his experience with Nicolas Cage and revealed that he wants the decorated actor in the role of Din Djarin. “I think Nicolas Cage would be a great Mandalorian. I think that he’s so physical, that he cuts such a great silhouette. He would figure out very artistic ways to execute the role.” he said.

Despite Pascal’s enthusiasm, the possibility of seeing Cage in the Star Wars universe is highly unlikely at present. But Pascal has been very vocal even before about the Ghost Rider star’s contribution to his dream of becoming an actor. “I am his biggest fan [Cage]. I knew I wanted to be an actor quite young. I came up with this fantasy because we would go to the movies so much as a family. So, as a child, the kinds of performances that were imprinted onto my experience were yours.” Pascal said to Variety.

On the other hand, Pascal also answered the question of which role from Cage’s long list of characters he most wishes he could have played. “It would be Raising Arizona with the Coen Brothers, for sure,” he said, referring to one of Cage’s most famous roles as H.I. McDunnough from the 1987 film that has long since become a cult classic. Both actors have co-starred in the American action comedy film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022).

The Mandalorian Season 3 is now available on Disney+.
