Comedian Park Ji Sun from South Korea has been remembered two years after his death.
In 2007, Park Ji Sun debuted in the comedy industry after graduating from Korea University’s Department of Education. She brought laughter to households through her shows, but she cut her career short in 2020.

Remembering Comedian Park Ji Sun
On November 2, multiple Korean media outlets including Money Today, Newsis, and Hankyung, honored Park Ji Sun in special articles posted on the anniversary of her death.
Park Ji Sun was nominated for four awards and won all of them before her death, including Best Newcomer Award, Excellence Award in Comedy, and Top Excellence Award in Comedy from the KBS Entertainment Awards and Radio DJ Award from SBS Entertainment Awards.
Unfortunately, the Seoul Mapo Police Station found her and her mother dead on Nov. 2, 2020, in their Mapo District home around 1:44 p.m.

At that time, the police confirmed that the comedian’s father called the police after her daughter and wife failed to get in touch with him. Upon arrival at their home, they had already found them dead.
“No foul play is suspected, as there was no sign of a break-in and what was presumed to be a suicide note was found,” the Seoul Mapo Police said.
The bereaved family held a funeral service at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital before she was laid to rest on Nov. 5. They requested not to conduct an autopsy on their bodies.
Park Ji Sun’s Health Issues
After her death, details about her health issues emerged.
Money Today and Singles List revealed the health issues she faced years before committing an apparent suicide. In a past interview, the comedian revealed she could not wear makeup after getting diagnosed with sun allergy and a chronic skin condition.
Park Ji Sun reportedly received treatment for an undisclosed medical condition and underwent surgery to cure it.
