The 51-year-old actress recently made headlines after she shed light on dating rumors involving the South Korean heartthrob who is 20 years her senior.
Lee Il Hwa Recalls Viral Photo With Park Bo Gum
During her guest appearance on MBC's talk show Radio Star, Lee Il Hwa responded to dating rumors after the host mentioned her alleged relationship with Park Bo Gum.
The actress recalled the vacation trip they had after filming Reply 1988 where she and Park Bo Gum were co-stars.
“That was when the team of 'Replay 1988' went to Phuket, Thailand together as a reward vacation,” she said, as obtained by SBS Star, and even mentioning her co-star’s name, “One day, we all planned to meet up at the beach for some drinks, and I bumped into Bo Gum on my way there. So, we walked to the beach together."
Interestingly, she spoke about the viral photo featuring her and the junior actor at the beach where they were spotted wearing almost matchy attire.
“I happened to wear a similar style of clothes as him as well. It was a common style for the beach, but we almost looked like we matched our outfits,” she added.
In the said photo, Lee Il Hwa was sporting a slightly fitted white shirt paired with black shorts while capping off the look with shades. The same goes for Park Bo Gum who at the time was wearing a comfy white shirt and blue shorts with the same colored hat.
Host Kim Gu Ra mentioned that they looked like a couple in the paparazzi photo to which the actress replied and say sorry to Bogummie.
In 2016, right after Reply 1988 concluded with a huge success, the cast including the Love in the Moonlight star joined the whole team on a vacation.
At the time, they were romantically linked after the photos went viral.
In Reply 1988, Lee Il Hwa played the role of Lee Hyeri’s mother while Park Bo Gum took the role of Hyeri’s friend Choi Taek.

Besides Lee Il Hwa, Park Bo Gum has been involved in various dating rumors involving fellow celebrities.

Adding to the list of Park Bo Gum’s rumored girlfriend is Love in the Moonlight co-star Kim Yoo Jung.
However, their closeness on and off cam was misinterpreted by viewers, and saw it as a romantic connection.
