Paramount to Revamp Transformers with Two New Movies, One Being Beast Wars

It looks like the Autobots are rolling out once again as Paramount Pictures has plans to rejuvenate the Transformers franchise. After Bumblebee brought some new life to the film series, despite performing weaker than previous installments in the franchise, and Paramount is hoping to make two more movies with the same mindset. If that means another quality movie featuring the Transformers, fans will be more than pleased with the results.

According to Deadline, one of the movies Paramount is working on will be based on Beast Wars. This was a fairly popular spin-off that had animals turning into cool robots and fans ate that up. It was also in the same continuity as Transformers, even featuring the ghost of Starscream, which was confusing to this writer when he was 10-years-old.

No directors for the two movies were announced, though they do have writers already. James Vanderbilt of Murder Mystery fame will be scripting Beast Wars. He has reportedly been working on the project since April, with plans to include Cheetor (Cheetah), Optimus Primal (Gorilla), Rhinox (Rhinoceros) and others.

Joby Harold of John Wick Chapter 3 and Army of the Dead fame will be writing the second film, which will reportedly be set in the Bumblebee universe. Whether that means it's an official sequel or not has yet to be clarified but fans are digging that movie so there's hope that this possible follow-up will be a good one.
