Overwatch: New Hero Was Already Hinted At Via Sombra?

A lot of buzz is surrounding this new character in Overwatch called Efi Oladele, who looks to be the game's next playable character. Some may think that Efi was a character that went completely under the radar — what with all the Doomfist rumors — but it looks like she had been teased earlier last year along with the release of Sombra.

In a supposed interview with Efi posted on the Overwatch page, Efi is revealed to be a child genius who is a citizen of Numbani, and she has attained some "impressive achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence."

Back in Sombra's origin video, it was revealed that she was quite adept at hacking until she was blocked by a specific firewall with this logo.

Look familiar? It's actually the same pattern that Efi has around her eyes.

The logo even shows up a second time in the same video.

Illuminati confirmed.

Seeing Efi is only a child, it's possible that the symbol could be representative of a totally different person/entity, but by the looks of it, Sombra will be having some tough competition once the new hero gets revealed.

As for playstyle, nothing has been revealed about Efi. It's possible that she isn't even going to be playable at all, and it could just be another omnic character that was created by her. Maybe Efi can even pull a D. Va, and be another kid piloting a mech. It would be disheartening to see a little child get shot down in a battle though.

One thing's for sure, if Efi joins the roster, she would be the youngest playable character at 11-years-old. As of now, that title belongs to Korea's Hana Song a.k.a. D. Va.

No release has been announced for Efi's character, but Blizzard is sure to reveal more details as the year trudges along; maybe in E3 2017? Let's be hopeful.

Overwatch is currently playable for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
