It's been a while since the Overwatch team announced upcoming hero Orisa, and the new tank hero has been playable in the PTR to let the developers work out some kinks with her design. It looks like they're almost done, with Orisa getting an official release date on March 21.

The new video posted up by the team on Youtube covers a lot on Orisa's development and how she adds to the roster of Overwatch. For a while, I thought that the official hero connected to Numbani was Lucio, but it looks like the mascot for that location will be Orisa.

It's fun to see the early stages of her development as well. Before they came up with her design, the developers used Zarya's goth skin and equipped her with Bastion's sentry turret. There's also pictures of Orisa's multiple designs before they decided to stick to her "buffalo horns."

D. Va may be the youngest character in the roster as of now, but since Orisa was created by a child (Efi Oladele), that makes her the youngest character in the game when she joins the roster — albeit, she's an Omnic and not a person.

For months, people have been wondering about the arrival of Doomfist, but fans seem to be welcome to getting to know Orisa. Guess we'll just have to wait a while longer before Doomfist gets an actual reveal.

Orisa becomes playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on March 21.
