Several upcoming shows in the Fall 23 season got premiere announcements recently. Among them is the racing anime Overtake!, which recently revealed its October release date in a new trailer.
The show’s latest trailer didn’t just reveal the release, but it also showed off brand-new footage featuring some of the other racing drivers that will be heavily featured in the anime.
Plus, two new voice actors have been confirmed. These two well-known VAs join the anime’s already stacked voice cast which was revealed in previous announcements.
Overtake! Anime Announces More Cast Members
Overtake! is an upcoming racing anime by Troyca, the studio behind titles such as Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files in the Fate series, as well as Aldnoah.Zero which they helped to animate alongside A-1 Pictures.
Unlike most racing or sports shows, this new anime is not based on a manga or a light novel, though it is produced by the major publisher, Kadokawa.
Previously, it was revealed that the show’s voice cast includes well-known VAs like Katsuyuki Konishi (Tengen Uzui in Demon Slayer), Reina Ueda (Reze in Chainsaw Man), and Taku Yashiro (Sagara Sanosuke in Rurouni Kenshin).
Now, the anime revealed two new voice actors, with the first being Kenta Sasa who voices Toru Komaki. Sasa is a VA who is best known for voicing characters such as Gon in Beastars, Connor in Edens Zero, and Fusenmaru in Hakumei to Mikochi.
Also confirmed as part of the voice cast is Masayuki Katou, a voice actor with roles such as Kiyomasa Senji in Deadman Wonderland and Demiurge in Overlord under his belt. In Overtake!, Katou voices Michinori Shosei.

Racing Anime Overtake! Gets Official Release Date
Motorsports fans and car lovers will be in for a treat this upcoming season as there are two racing anime that will air.
Aside from Overtake!, there’s also MF Ghost, which is the sequel to the iconic Initial D. This upcoming sequel will be a must-watch for fans of modern sports cars and drifting.
Meanwhile, Troyca and Kadokawa’s Overtake! is geared more toward open-wheel racing fans as it follows various racing drivers in Japan Formula 4.
What also makes it unique is that, instead of a racing driver being the only protagonist, the series will follow the freelance photographer Kouya Madoka as he gets close to Haruka Asahina, an up-and-coming F4 driver.
Overtake! will be released on October 1, 2023, on Japanese TV. There’s no word yet on which platform it will be streamed on outside Japan.
