Outlander star Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser on Starz's time travel/historical drama, took to Instagram to let out a furious rant after his charity fundraising Instagram account was hacked and deleted.
The 41-year-old Dumfries born actor founded the My Peak Challenge to help others achieve their goals and grow with the ethos to "help yourself while helping others", and has raised over $6 million since being founded. According to the charity's website, MPC supports hunger relief, blood-cancer research, end-of-life care, and environmental protection efforts.
Heughan, who's best known for his role as a Highland Warrior in Starz's historical series, took to Instagram to unleash a rant against whoever hacked his charity Instagram page. The Scots actor said that the account had been deleted, and wrote" I'm so angry and upset.
"Some a****** has hacked and deleted our MPC account.
"Why would someone do this to a charity fundraiser?!!
"Why??????
"We will be back up and running ASAP. X"
Heughan started the organization in 2015 after he asked fans to challenge themselves while raising money for charity. Unfortunately, the actor had to warn fans on Instagram about fake accounts circulating, claiming to be his MPC account.
"Please do not follow any MPC account," Heughan said. "I will announce when we are up and running. Very soon!"
Members of the MPC are encouraged to do a variety of different challenges including “run a 10K or climb a mountain; learn to play guitar, take up a new language, or become a great chef".
