Osomatsu-san is Getting a PS Vita Game in 2017

Osomatsu-san will be landing as a game on PS Vita devices next year.

The parody anime, which had streamed back in October, will be developed into a game by Idea Factory's Otomate brand. Ironically, it is the arm that handles romance simulation titles, Anime News Network reported.

This new project will be titled Osomatsu-san The Game Hachamecha Shuushoku Advice: Dead or Work. Translated, it means Mr. Osomatsu The Game Nonsense Employment Advice: Dead or Work.

There's already an announcement video, seen below, but it's in Japanese. What exactly the game will be and how it will play out has yet to be detailed.

For those who are not familiar with Osomatsu-san, it is based on Fujio Akatsuka's manga from the 1960s, Osomatsu-kun. If you know your Japanese honorifics, that basically shows that the newer rendition is a version where Matsuno brothers have already grown up.

I loved the humor of Osomatsu-san—obviously, since the creative tag team of director Fujita Yoichi and writer Matsubara Shu are also behind Gintama. The anime is all about the sextuplets and their adventures as NEETs, each with their own individualities.

You have the useless eldest brother Osomatsu, the painfully not-cool second brother Karamatsu, the geeky Choromatsu, the antisocial Ichimatsu, the hyperactive baseball addict Jyushimatsu, and the cold-hearted and effeminate "Totty" Todomatsu.

Considering the premise of the anime, I think what will pull off the game is if the creators incorporate the humor. After all, that's what gives Osomatsu-san its charm.
