Oshi no Ko’s latest episode trended once again thanks in part to Aqua’s impressive acting. But among the discussions, Oshi no Ko fans are buzzing about Frill Shiranui and her surprising connection to Kaguya-sama: Love Is War.

Frill is a popular actress in the world of Oshi no Ko, and she’s described as an ethereal beauty by the likes of Ruby Hoshino.

While she’s no doubt pretty, fans were surprised by her unusual look in the anime.

In the school that Aqua and Ruby attend, it was noted in the latest episode that there were a lot of good-looking guys and girls.

After all, this school is a premier institution for students in the entertainment industry.

Despite the many beautiful students, Frill Shiranui is noted to stand out among the rest, to the point that Ruby and her new friend Minami Kotobuki were shocked to see her in the same class.

While not as big of a fan favorite as Kana Arima, Frill’s appearance was celebrated by fans.

Though some were taken aback by her design in the anime, largely because of her bright green eyes. This, combined with her oval pupils gave her a striking look that fans called snake-like.

Some are fans of her look while others find it a bit too strong. Though whatever the case may be, pretty much every fan loved her voice.

What also got attention was Frill’s surprising connection to Kaguya-sama: Love Is War.

This is one of the many references between the two series -- not surprising given that they are both written by Aka Akasaka.

Specifically, Frill is the younger sister of Koromo Shiranui, one of the four Impossible Girls in Love Is War.

In an interview with Tsutaya, author Akasaka mentioned the connection between the two, though this was not addressed in the story yet.

Given that Oshi no Ko and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War are confirmed to be in the same universe, it’s safe to say that this crossover is official.

Frill Shiranui will be seen in the next Oshi no Ko episode which releases next week.
