The upcoming series reportedly stands as an origin story for Isaac's Marc Spector, while also focusing on the character's mental state and introduction to Egyptian mythology, and producer Grant Curtis recently revealed that Moon Knight has no connections to the current MCU timeline. Lastly, the series will not feature another existing MCU character, despite the rumors that Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner will appear in the series.

While all of us are still unaware whether Moon Knight will be joining the Avengers soon, Isaac shed some light on how his character differs from the renowned heroes of the franchise.

On Moon Knight's virtual conference, lead star Oscar Isaac opens up on the difference of joining the MCU from portraying roles in other major franchises, such as Dune and Star Wars.

"I think that there was just -- when I looked at it and we talked -- Grant and Kevin, and Mohamed, as well -- it just seemed like there was a real opportunity to do something completely different, particularly in the MCU, and to really focus on this internal struggle of this character, and to use Egyptian iconography and the superhero genre and this language to talk about this real internal struggle that this person is having. "

When asked how Steven Grant and Marc Spector differ from the Avengers, Isaac responded, "Well, I think the story is so point of view. It means that you're just in the skin of this guy, and you're seeing things happen. You're experiencing it just as he's experiencing it. So there's something that's terrifying about that."

Isaac elaborated the character's sense of humor, which is different from 'what we've seen before', "I think Steven, in particular, there's a sense of humor there that is different from what we've seen. I think Marvel in particular have done such an amazing job at combining action and comedy in such a great way. And I thought with Steven, there was a chance to do a different type of comedy than we've seen of somebody that doesn't know they're funny, doesn't know they're being funny. And so that was really exciting."

Isaac then teased about what to expect from Marc Spector, "And then to find the counterpoint of that with Marc, in some ways leaning into a bit of the stereotype of the tortured, dark vigilante guy, but what makes him so special is that he has this little Englishman living inside of him."

Will Moon Knight join the Avengers? As of now, nothing is yet announced about the character's future in the MCU. Fortunately, introducing a new hero gives the production more time to decide on what works best for the character. For Oscar Isaac himself, in a previous statement, the actor revealed that he would like to appear in Marvel's Midnight Sons rather than the Avengers.

With the multiverse in mind and with the continuous expansion of the MCU, we might know what's next for Marc Spector after the series' debut. From more recent news, Moon Knight director shares that he wants to see Moon Knight for more than a decade, confirming that Marc Spector will play a prominent role in the MCU, assuring more appearances in the future.

Moon Knight will premiere in Disney+ on March 30.
