Oscar Isaac is Spider-Man 2099 in Stunning New Image

One of the coolest things about Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was the sheer number of Spider-Men that showed up in the animated flick. For instance, fans were treated to a brief glimpse of Spider-Man 2099 (voiced by Oscar Isaac) at the end of the film, teasing on the possibility that he could play a larger role in the sequel. But what would the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor look like as Miguel O'Hara? New fan art has imagined just that and it's amazing.

The fan art was created by digital artist Apexform and has been shared on Twitter. Check it out below.

Interestingly, the fan art seems to suggest that Miguel should get his own spin-off series. This is certainly a welcome idea considering that we're not getting a lot of Spider-Man content on TV right now. However, it's also something that has not yet been suggested by Sony. For now, we can only hope that we'll see more of Spider-Man 2099 in the Spider-Verse sequel.

Spider-Man 2099 was created by Peter David and Rick Leonardi back in 1992. In the comics, Miguel is a geneticist living in the future who is trying to replicate Spider-Man's abilities and he accidentally ends up with his DNA being rewritten with a spider's genetic code.

Although we'd love the idea of Isaac playing a live-action version of Spider-Man 2099, it seems like the actor is truly busy these days. Isaac is currently set to appear as Duke Leto Atreides in the highly anticipated adaptation of Dune, which is scheduled for release on December 18.
