Original Dune Star Kyle McLachlan Has Epic Advice For New Paul Atreides Timothée Chalamet

We're all excited for the upcoming Dune reboot since it already boasts of a stellar cast. But what does the original Paul Atreides have to say about Timothée Chalamet taking over the role? Kyle McLachlan has a piece of advice for the new Muad'Dib, and it is absolutely perfect.

McLachlan was recently a guest on the BuzzFeed morning show AM2DM where he expressed enthusiasm for the Dune reboot. When asked if he had any advice for Chalamet on taking on the coveted role, the Twin Peaks star had an awesome response.

"Go easy on the spice," McLachlan said. No truer words have been spoken. Let's hope Chalamet is paying attention.

McLachlan also addressed how Dune could be "a challenging piece of material to try to bring to the screen." Nevertheless, he firmly believes that director Denis Villeneuve will pull it off.

"I wish him luck with that. If anyone can do it, he'll do a great job," he said of Villeneuve. "He's a terrific filmmaker."

McLachlan played Paul Atreides in David Lynch's 1984 adaptation of the novel. Scottish actor Alex Newman later took on the role in the 2000 miniseries as well as the 2003 sequel Children of Dune.

The Dune remake is certainly getting ready to begin production as new cast members are added. It was previously reported that Javier Bardem is in negotiations to play Stilgar while Spider-Man: Far From Home actress Zendaya is in final talks to portray Paul's lover Chani. In addition to that, Star Wars: Episode IX's Oscar Isaac could take on the role of Paul's father Duke Leto Atreides.
