Orient Season 2 Episode 1 Release Date
It has been confirmed that Orient season 2 will be part of the summer 2022 anime line-up as it will air on July 12, 2022. The title of the new season is Orient: The Battle of Awaji Island.
The sequel was announced after the season 1 finale was released, making viewers excited that they will no longer have to wait for years just to see what happens next.
It was also not a surprise as the anime did receive great ratings from local and international viewers. There is also a lot of manga content to adapt, which will make it easier for the studio to continue the series.
What To Expect in Orient Season 2
The upcoming season is the Awaji Island Recapture Operation Arc. This arc started in chapter 43 of the manga and was actually introduced in the season finale of the anime.
The arc ends in chapter 115. As of March 2022, there are 121 chapters available, which means that even after this arc, there is still a lot of content left for supporters.
From the title itself, the story will take place at Awaji Island. Musashi will continue to struggle in handling his abilities and moving past his childhood trauma.
In episode 12 of season 1, The Obsidian Eight was introduced as well as the origins of the Black Kishin, which might be the focus of the new season.
The total number of episodes has not been confirmed but fans expect that the arc will have multiple cours considering that Awaji Island Arc is the longest in the manga series.
